Only those who are easily satisfied will know happiness; those who are not easily satisfied will always feel sad, wanting this and that, always thinking that they lack of too much of things in their life, and this will continue endlessly. People who don't know how to be satisfied are forever busy with their never-ending pursuit. They never have the time to stop and look at the amazing and beautiful world around them, they will never get to savour moment of their lives, their lives are exhausted in the constant hustle and bustle, and they will eventually end up with a tired heart. On the contrary, those who are content get the simple satisfaction of their own, know to stop their steps in their journey, to enjoy the beauty of this big world and the joy of life, and even get to spend more time with their beloved ones. Their lives are always full of joy and their faces are always beaming with happiness.

Taking an example from a short story that I have heard when I was in my childhood time. Once upon a time, there was a little monkey who had been on the mountain for a long time and wanted to go out to find some food. The monkey walked along the road and saw a field of corn, the golden yellow corn made the monkey excited and he picked a few corncobs with full of excitement. As he keep walked, he saw another orchard with large peaches which tempted him, so he left the corn behind and picked his favourite peaches, humming a tune as he continued on his way. Again! He saw a field of watermelons, big and round, and again the monkey threw away the peaches and plucked the juicy watermelons. Finally, he came to another field of sesame seeds and again he threw the watermelon in order to pick the sesame seeds. In the end, he returned home with only some sesame seeds that were not enough to feed his hunger. A very simple story tells us that we should always be content with what we have.

I remember a survey done by an American professor, asking people to choose whether they were happy and satisfied with their current life. The result shows that very few people chose "happy", and some of them were happy because they were rich and had status at that moment, while others were just ordinary people. After many years, the professor did the survey again to the same group of people. Then, the result shows some of those who were rich no longer considered themselves happy because their status had declined, while the others ordinary people were still considered themselves happy. This had proven that being happy or unhappy is not determined by status or wealth. One has to be contented.

People live in this world, constantly pursuing what they want. But the world seems to be full of temptations for us; we get money and then want status; we get status and then want a comfortable life; we get a comfortable life and then want a long life ...... It seems that there is no end to what we want. So, our attitude determines our life, feelings and emotion. For a person who does not know how to be satisfied will not only make himself unhappy, but will also affect his family. I believe to those who are content are always happy. That is why people should learn to be content.
